چکیده

This study evaluated the effect of Mono-Ethylene Glycol (MEG) on hydrate formation conditions in subsea pipelines for a typical gas deepwater field Nigeria, using flow assurance simulator 'PIPESIM'. At turndown, normal and maximum conditions, production rates were 1640, 2460, 3280 sm3/day, respectively. The wellhead temperature varies between 50-55oC, inlet pressure at is 25 bara. outlet topside facility must be 11 bara above to achieve flow. From available flowline internal diameters 0.24, 0.29, 0.34m, simulation was run determine suitable diameter which will not lead erosion due velocity. In deciding temperature, utilized estimation. Also, determining minimum MEG volume required appearance 30 °C, volumes 0, 10, 20 wt%. simulations, hydrates observed form 11.4 30wt%. 30wt% suppressed 8.9 °C. A slug 8.5m3 adequate ensure fluid transport topside. work's outcomes findings also suggest inner 0.29m, an overall heat transfer coefficient 0.81W/m2oC, optimum rate sm3/day avoid drop assurance.

On the Mechanism of Gas Hydrate Formation in Subsea Sediments

INTRODUCXION Gas hydrates are crystalline molecular complexes formed from mixtures of water and suitably sized gas molecules. Based on hydrogen bonding, water molecules form unstable lattice structures with several interstitial cavities. The gas molecules can occupy the lattice cavities and, when a minimum number of cavities are occupied, the crystalline structure becomes stable and solid gas h...

Ethylene Separation via Hydrate Formation in W/O Emulsions

An hybrid absorption-hydration method was adopted to recover C2H4 from C2H4/CH4 binary gas mixtures and the hydrate formation conditions of C2H4/CH4 mixtures was studied experimentally in diesel in water (w/o) emulsions. Span 20 at a concentration of 1.0 wt% in the aqueous phase was added to form water in diesel emulsions before hydrate formation and then hydrate in diesel slurry was separated ...

Experimental Determination of the Temperature Suppression in Formation of Gas Hydrate in Water Based Drilling Mud

The aqueous mixtures of light gas molecules under low-temperature and high-pressure conditions are candidates to form gas hydrate clathrates. The formation of gas hydrate may lead to various problems and extra charges in natural gas production and processing. The presence of hydrate crystals forming a stable solid phase can potentially block the wells, pipes, and process facilities. To avoid su...
